What You Need to Prepare Before Your Consultation
To facilitate an efficient and compliant clinical evaluation, please prepare the following items prior to your telehealth video appointment:
A current Ohio driver's license or state-issued identification card confirming your residency.
Prior medical visit summaries, diagnostic reports, therapy notes, or imaging showing a diagnosis of one of the Ohio qualifying conditions.
A smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer with an active webcam, microphone, and stable internet connection.
What Happens During the Consultation
During your private telehealth video appointment, your evaluating doctor will discuss your health symptoms, past treatment responses, and diagnosis history. This is also an opportunity to ask clinical questions regarding cannabinoid ratios, administration methods, potential interactions with other medications, and safety precautions.
Please note: No physician can guarantee recommendation approval in advance. Approval is determined solely by the evaluating physician based on clinical findings and statutory eligibility under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3796.
Registering With the State of Ohio
If your physician issues a recommendation, they will enter your credentials directly into the Ohio Medical Marijuana Registry (MMCP). You will receive an automated notification from the state registry prompting you to:
- Create your registry login credentials on the official Ohio state portal.
- Verify your patient demographic details and profile information.
- Submit any applicable state patient registration fee (if required by state law).
- Download or print your official Ohio Medical Marijuana Registry Card.
